Conflict Transformation and Research Programmes LPI has been actively engaged in community-based peacebuilding and nonviolent conflict transformation in Africa since late 1980s. The Horn of Africa Programme was first established. Since 2001 there are also Conflict Transformation Programmes in the Republic of Congo and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Since 2006 LPI also supports interreligious peacebuildign work in Timor Leste. Activities include peace and conflict research, training and education, capacity building and other relevant support to civil society. LPI works with churches and other faith-based structures, inter-religious bodies, human rights organisations, women groups and networks to mention some.
